Youth Climate Program Mini- Grants Opportunity

The Wild Center’s Youth Climate Program invites high school environmental clubs/groups from New York State to apply for funding to support student-led Climate Action Plans. After a challenging and stressful couple of years, The Wild Center is excited to support students and teachers in completing climate action projects and kick-starting environmental clubs.

Who is Eligible?

Current high school students from New York State are invited to apply on behalf of their environmental clubs/ groups. To apply, your group must have attended the 2022 Adirondack Youth Climate Summit, 2022 Youth Climate Leadership Retreat or 2022 Educator Institute. Group must be a non-profit 501 (C)(3). Although teachers/mentors are encouraged to support environmental clubs as active advisors, a high school student must be the lead contact on the application.

Mini Grant Details

Grants $100-$500 will be awarded to support student-led Climate Action Projects or, in some cases, restart environmental clubs. Students will be asked to submit a brief grant report on how they used their grant funding. Applications are due by December 16, 2022.

How to Apply

In order to apply, student applicants must fill out the application and schedule a virtual OR in-person session with Youth Climate Program staff. This can be a brainstorm session on how to use the grant, a Climate Action Planning workshop, a Running a Green Team workshop, or something else useful to student leaders. Please email Elodie Linck (youthclimate@wildcenter.org) to set up a session. Sessions can happen anytime during Fall 2022/ Winter 2023, including after the grant deadline. Elodie will also be hosting office hours to support Climate Action Projects. Stay tuned for details!
