Big Wolf Great Hall

Outdoor Program volunteers spend their shifts outside on our campus and trails. Tasks vary and could include leading an insect catching activity, facilitating activities in the pines play area, or leading a naturalist walk on our trails.

Flammer Theater

Indoor
A state-of-the-art panoramic theater with tiered seating and top-notch AV and livestreaming capabilities, ideal for meetings, presentations, film screenings, and performances.

Planet Adirondack

Planet Adirondack (PADK) volunteers help engage visitors in stories, show data sets and connect content to the Adirondacks. Volunteers will act as informal exhibit guides as well as have the opportunity to create their own linked science stories or use the pre-established ones.

Hutchens Conference Room

Indoor
For a more private and focused setting, the Hutchens Conference Room offers a flexible layout with seating for up to 16 around the main table and space for up to 30 guests in total. Large windows provide natural light, creating a bright and inviting environment.

Store Assistant

Retail
Volunteers will help in the store with general stocking, talking to visitors, pricing merchandise, receiving, light cleaning, answering visitor questions, and bagging.

Wild Walk

Outdoor
Accessible to all, Wild Walk is a treetop boardwalk with views out to the mountains, and fanciful features such as a twig tree house and giant bird’s nest.

Tinkering Studio

Tinkering Studio Volunteers help engage visitors in building, testing and playing while exploring concepts of climate solutions. Activities include wind turbines, animal homes, and upcycled crafts. Duties include cleaning, restocking supplies, and providing demonstrations/instructions for visitors.

Forest Music

Outdoor
Immerse your sound experience, or quiet down and listen to nature on our music trail. A wooded trail perfect for a soundful or quiet ceremony or event.

Pines Play Area

Outdoor
No plastic in sight, this wild play area offers outdoor seating and features a large upturned root that adds depth and detail to any ceremony. Use it as a photo op or your ceremony spot!

Visitor Services

Volunteers will table the Information Desk at the heart of the center to welcome visitors, answer questions, provide program information, and guidance on planning their visit.
