FEATURED FARMER MARKETS Thursdays Starting June 24, 2010
The Wild Center hosts weekly Farmers Market where you can meet farmers and take home some of the wonderful local food grown in the Adirondack region. The Wild Center has joined with The Adirondack Farmers' Market Cooperative, Inc. which promotes and manages farmers' markets.
Farmer Markets will take place every Thursday from June 24th through September 30th from 11 am – 3 pm in The Wild Center's Esplanade Tent. This year’s market features a variety of vendors including fresh vegetables, meat, honey, crafts and much more. All related Farmer Market outdoor programming is free and open to the public. Admission to The Wild Center exhibits and additional programming is not included. Each Thursday there are opportunities to purchase local farm products, speak with farmers about their products, and participate in special weekly highlight events.
Buying local food can have great benefits for you and your neighborhood. Local food can be healthier for you, and there is something special that happens when you meet the people who have made the food that you feed your family.
