EVENTS The Wild Center - Different Every Day
We open seven-days-a week.
Come meet one of our many animals up close at an animal encounter, join a naturalist for a woods walk down to the Raquette River, join us in the Flammer Theater for a live show, or learn about what our River Otters are up to at an Otter Talk. Summer is a great time to have a Wild Center experience.
See the current events calendar here.
We also have a full schedule of special events for this summer including canoeing on the Raquette River, early morning birding walks in, special presentations from science experts, and off-site eXpeditions. To best decide which days you want to see the Center we recommend that you check out the official events calendar linked above. The Daily Explorer, available at the front desk, shows each day's schedule, printed that morning.
The Wild Center's movie, A Matter of Degrees, narrated by Sigourney Weaver, was a finalist at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and first prize winner at the National Association for Interpretation. Filmed exclusively for The Wild Center's wide screen, it's screened each day, one of many shows now in the Flammer Panoramas Theater. Additional shows include Scent of a Moose, about the moose return to the Adirondacks and the breathtaking images of Carl Heilman’s Wild Adirondacks.
