
The Wild Center invites you to spend the day exploring exhibits, like Planet Adirondack and Climate Solutions, or walking among the trees at Wild Walk. This year we are offering private homeschool experiences, events, and activities catered specifically for you. Homeschool families are welcome to participate in private Wild Classroom Workshops, meet our animal ambassadors, and stop by the Naturalist Cabinet for science and art-based activities.
Free for members. Non-members: Adult (18+), $10; Youth (5-17), $5, children ages 4 and under are free
Upcoming Homeschool Days: September 19 & October 24, 2025
September 19: Wild Engineering – From Beavers to Batteries, a hands-on exploration of animal behavior and engineering innovation, featuring enrichment activities with animal care staff, creative building stations, and live demonstrations. Families can craft beaver dams, design model cities, and build ball runs while learning how nature inspires technology.
SCHEDULE:
- 10 am - 1 pm: Create Animal Enrichment With Animal Care Staff in the Naturalist Cabinet
- 1 pm - 2 pm: Animal Enrichment Program & Demo in the Flammer Theater
- 10 am - 4 pm: Craft Your Own Beaver Dam in the Animal Viewing Area
- Build & Light Up Model City in the Tinkering Studio
10 am - 3 pm (building, self-guided)
3 pm - 4 pm (lighting, staff-guided) - 10 am - 5 pm: Design Your Own Ball Run at the bottom of Raquette River Roll on the Fen Trail
