Bring the homeschool experience to The Wild Center and immerse yourself in STEAM-based nature learning like never before. This year we are offering private homeschool experiences, events, and activities catered specifically for you.

10:30-11am Intro to Maple Sugaring
Meet in Flammer Theater
- Learn the process of maple sugaring
11:30am-12:30pm Sensory Walk with Adirondack Riverwalking
Meet in Great Hall
- Let's explore the forest through all our senses, sight, smell, touch, hearing and even taste. We will combine playful guided activities with free time as we make our way along the forest trail, getting up close with nature to rekindle our sense of awe and wonder. Gentle terrain and fun for all ages. 60 minutes.
1:30pm-2pm Nature Sensory Play with Adirondack Riverwalking
Meet in Naturalist Cabinet
- We will share a cup of wild tea while we explore a different way of playing that focuses on engaging our senses and nature. Nature sensory activities indoors and outdoors provide fun and effective breaks in the midst of more focused learning, restoring our attention and our ability to problem solve. Using our senses makes us mindful without effort, and helps to reduce the anxiety and stress that can arise from more challenging learning.
