The summit kicks off with welcome remarks from leaders at the Smithsonian, NOAA, and the Wild Center, followed by keynote speaker Tecumseh Ceaser (Matinecock Turkey clan, Montaukett, and Unkechaug). After the keynote, an intergenerational panel of students and seasoned professionals reflect on how climate change is discussed in classrooms and informal education spaces. Panelists share insights on why decision-makers must take innovative steps to address systemic challenges in education systems to engage students in meaningful, transformative, justice-centered climate education.
