Limited to 8 Participants

Come and enjoy the diversity of summer landscape photography in the northwestern Adirondacks with photographer Carl Heilman II as your guide and mentor. In this one day nature photography tour we will travel to several destinations that are within a 45 minute radius of Tupper Lake. The photo locations will include summer landscapes and waterways . Destinations may include the Long Lake/Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake/Bloomingdale, or Grasse River/Cranberry Lake areas. Sunset is about 8 pm. Carl will be sure to find a good place to photograph the sunset light if conditions are looking good, before heading to a good location for some nighttime photography! All types of lens equipment could be used from macro/extension tubes to wide-angle and telephoto lenses. It’s always good to bring an umbrella and wet weather gear in case of showers.

This photography tour is designed for those who are comfortable with camera basics such as exposure, the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings, and their creative options. The afternoon will start with a brief introduction and a question and answer period. The rest of the day will be spent with the camera, photographing at several nearby locations. Carl will be available throughout the afternoon to answer any additional questions and provide help and guidance in the different shooting situations. This nature photography tour is rated EASY - all of the photography will be reasonably close to the road, with minimal walking over rough or rocky terrain, with short hikes up to about one half mile. A maximum of 8 participants, allows plenty of opportunities for individual interaction throughout the day on the different photo shoots.
