Exhibit Guiding Volunteers
Help enhance the visitor experience by interacting one-on-one, or in small groups, with visitors as they explore the museum and exhibits, including Wild Walk. Take a moment to point out additional areas that they may be interested in, talk about your experiences in the Adirondacks, encourage them to try our interactives, and more. A friendly personality and willingness to learn makes you the perfect fit for this role.
Naturalist Volunteers
Is there a natural history topic that inspires you? Share it with our visitors by offering a program on a topic of your choice. Programs may be informal (cart style, visitors stop by) or formal (start and end time). We have some written programs you can pick from or you can work with our staff to design your own. Must attend a training on interpretation led by Wild Center staff, previous experience in education helpful but not necessary. Program timing is flexible.
Visitor Services Volunteer
Are you an outgoing person who wants to help visitor plan their day at The Wild Center? If so, consider volunteering at our information desk, the Plan Your Visit Table. Help visitors navigate their day by answering questions about programs, movies, trails, and more. Share your favorite spots of hiking, eating, and entrainment to make their whole experience the best it can be. Volunteers will receive trainings and resources to assist with this position.
Wild Supply Co. Volunteers
The Wild Supply Co is the museum store of The Wild Center. Volunteers in this role play an essential role by assisting with inventory, helping visitors locate merchandise and more. Shifts can be flexible.
