Akwesasne International Powwow Bus Trip ←
A Ways of Knowing Themed Excursion
Join The Wild Center as we board a charter bus and travel to the Akwesasne International Pow-Wow. The annual event is held at the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena on Cornwall Island in the Canadian portion of the Mohawk territory of Akwesasne. This is a great family-friendly event that brings together the best Native artisans, food, drummers and dancers from the region. It is a celebration meant to foster “a better understanding of one another and foster a strong bond of peace and friendship with our neighbours of all cultures.”
A grand entry of all the beautifully dressed dancers starts the day, followed by dance competitions, an artisan fair, and the opportunity to eat homemade Native food and drink.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees MUST have a valid Passport or an Enhanced License, as you will be crossing international borders!!
Registration costs include transportation, admission to the Akwesasne Cultural Center, and admission to the event. Children 4 and under are FREE, Youth (5-17 yrs old) are $40, Adults (18+) are $45
