AN IRONMAN DAY OFF
See the wild side of the Adirondacks
USA Today call it the place 'not to miss." While you are in Lake Placid for the 2012 Ironman, you can enjoy this award-winning museum.
From live river otters swimming in their own waterfall to stunning high definition films, forest trails and and a local food cafe, The Wild Center is an indoor and outdoor summer experience. The Wall Street Journal called The Wild Center "glorious" and The New York Times called it "stunning". Built by the same firm that designed the Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C., you'll see what all the buzz is about the moment you enter the museum's vaulted Big Wolf Great Hall with its moving wall of ice.
The Wild Center is open all every day before during and after the Ironman.
The Wild Center's award-winning experience is your chance to explore the wild world of the Adirondacks. You can walk the 31- acre campus with naturalist guides or on your own. There are theaters with high definition films, plenty of hands-on activities and hundreds of live animals for you to meet. Come see for yourself why the Boston Globe called it "the place to go".
