Science on Tap with Dr. Curt Stager: Confessions of a climate skeptic ←
- This event has passed.
The Wild Center is taking science to the people. Science on Tap brings experts into the bars and breweries of the North Country to let you know about what’s happening in your backyard. Drop in for your beverage of choice and hear local scientists talk about cutting edge research in the Adirondacks. Come out and learn something new and exciting about this beautiful place we call home.
Dr. Curt Stager was once known in the North Country as a climate skeptic. Now he’s more widely known for his research and writings on the reality of human-driven climate change. What did it take to change his mind? Is he still a skeptic? And what does it all mean for the Adirondacks? Come to “Science on Tap” in Tupper Lake with an open mind and a healthy thirst for knowledge (among other things) to find out.
Curt Stager is an ecologist, paleoclimatologist, and science journalist with a Ph.D. in biology and geology from Duke University (1985). He has published over three dozen peer-reviewed articles in major journals including Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and has written extensively for general audiences in periodicals such as National Geographic, New York Times, Fast Company, and Adirondack Life.
Raquette River Brewing is located in Tupper Lake at the crossroads of the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York State. The brewery was born from a passion for craft beer and brewing. They brew small batch specialty ales to serve our local communities. They believe that every batch of beer should be as unique as the people enjoying it.
This event is free and open to the public.
It will be at Raquette River Brewing, 11 Balsam St #2, Tupper Lake, NY 12986.
